    • Hi Dayo, greetings.
The fee for Bar 1 is usually fixed by the Law School. For the Nigerian students, it is usually around N220,000.00 +.
For the International students, they usually pay about N220,000 plus $2000.
The good news is that it is usually nothing in comparison to what you pay in foreign universities.

  • I want to ask wen admission list would be ready, bcos I heard resumption will be 25th of this month

    • Hello Mr Olayemi Kolawole,
The list for Bar 1 will be out latest on the 15th of June. So between the 13th-15th of June you should be anticipating the release of the admission list for Bar 1.
Resumption is scheduled for the 25th of June,2018, however there are unofficial reports that the resumption date will be postponed to the 9th of July,2018 due to some upcoming Teachers Training Event that will take place at the Law School during the last week of June or there about.
But this postponement is yet to be officially announced. Until then,25th June remains the official date for resumption.

  • Hello, it there any news at all on the resumption date and list? I’ve tried calling the NLS number and the phone is switched off after a few rings. It’s getting a bit frustrating to be honest.

    • Hi Mina,
Apologies for the rather frustrating situation. Maybe the underneath unofficial post could help you.

This is to inform you that the resumption date for Bar 1 NLS has been postponed from the 25th of June,2018 to the 9th of July,2018.

This is unofficial, as it is yet to be officially announced by the Nigerian Law School.

The announcement will be done later by the NLS.
The reason for the postponement is due to the forthcoming Law Teachers Training Conference that will be hosted at the Law School for the initial slated date.

As a result of this development, the release of admission list has been postponed as well and will be made public a week to resumption.

      Thank you.

    • It’s really frustrating, I dnt knw the type of system they operate in this country. I also called several times switched off.

  • Uko thank you for updates .I wish you do well by not forgetting to make us know whence the admission list is released.

  • Am sure you all have seen the Bar 1 2018 academic calendar published here since the 27th of June,2018.You should be expecting the release of the admission list a week before the 16th July,2018 scheduled resumption.
For those who have not secured their apartments, its high time you did that as time is running out and very few apartments left.
Click on this link to view the calendar if you haven’t seen it yet.

    • Secure apartments when you can’t even show proof to your parents that you have been admitted ? That’s crazy . How can they be releasing such information so late ? What’s the guarantee that your name is on that list ? Why are things this way so like this ? Parents are worried !!!!

  • Less than two weeks to registration, and the list of admitted students have not been released yet.

    Suprised.

    • Dat is the Nigerian system we are about to face, nothing is working in the country. God help us all.

  • I know this is Nigeria, where NOTHING works! Just a week to registration No Admission list, No idea of what the school fees is, No Information on the law school web indicating anything. Surely this can’t be too much for anyone to ask for? For heavens sake prospective students need to plan.. Please Etuk is there any system for making complains like Servicom at the Law school?

    • Good morning to you Uche,
We are all expecting the release of the admission list this week.It is rather unfortunate that communication from the school has been abysmal at best, but having waited this long, be optimistic that the wait will soon be over. Resumption is on the 16th of July,2018 as published by the Law School.
Last year, the fees for Bar 1-Nigerian Citizens was N220,000.00 and N600,000.00 for Foreigners. No announcement as to change in fees from the school, so this can still serve as the benchmark for fees.
The Law School is a government establishment, so feel free to complain to Servicom for certain services that need to be improved upon, but am not sure I have seen their desk anyway in the School.

    • That means either the School is yet to update your admission status and therefore you should be patient or they have not received your document. In the first case you’ll have to give sometime as they are still updating applicants admission status or in the second case you may have to call in to find out if all your documents were received at the Admission Unit.

  • So can foreign newly admitted be hosted in the school hostel now before the 16th while they make other arrangements?

    • Hostel’s common rooms open a day to resumption. You will only be assigned a room after registration, which will start on Monday 16th of July,2018.

  • Greetings to u etuk, pls am from cameroon and i just received my acknowledgement slip which shows i have been granted full admission. But looking at the registration date which is too sudden, i wish to kn if one is not able to pay on that said day, what happens to the admission? secondly, will it still be possible to have accomodation even when one registered late? Thirdly, which documents are we to present upon reaching the law school; is it admission letter or acknowledgement slip? Lastly, how much will it cost for one to study in the law school; in respect of fees and books? Thanks waiting to read from you soon.

    • Hello Elive,
Congratulations on your full admission status.

1.Your admission will still valid even if you don’t make payment on the first day. The Law School understands that most students will have challenges arriving on time and settling into a new environment, while others will take some time for their graduation before resuming. So the School will give you reasonable time to take up your admission.

2.In the event that you need accommodation in the school hostel, it will be advisable that you make your registration ASAP. There are usually few rooms allotted for Bar 1 students given that the bulk of the rooms would have been occupied by the current Bar 2 students.
But in the event that you need a private apartment, you will do well to contact us here to book an apartment for you. Apartment rental is the major thrust of etuk.ng. Feel free to do a virtual tour around all the apartments on our platform.

Bring about 10% of your fees for books and a lot more for your upkeep and for having lots of fun.

      Cheers.

    • You will have to be patient or as a last resort visit the Admission Unit to ascertain the status of your admission. Unfortunately, there is no complaints line made available yet and it wouldn’t be ethical to drop private numbers of members of staff on a public platform.

  • Hi, when do we pay the fees and how do we go about it? Because there’s been no information about how to go about the fee payment

    • Upon resumption. It is advisable that where there is no sufficient information from the Law School in respect to fee payment, prospective students should visit the Zenith Bank in the school campus where they will be properly guided. For the foreign students (non-Nigerian Citizens) who will be making fee payment in dollars and not have a domiciliary account, feel free to contact us for help in this regard. You can click on this link for more info on domiciliary account help https://etuk.ng/fee-payment/
